PS: Riding back pissed, from the pub I would encounter a steeply rising hill and first gear would slip, leaving me tumbling, to arrive home like a schoolboy with scraped and bloody elbows and knees but happily anaesthetised by several pints of 'Old Skullcracker' till the morning revealed the wounds inflicted by the recalcitrant gearing that could never be sorted by various bicycle doctors.
Apparently a Brompton with an electric assist is imminent and I can't wait!
