Book of Three Rings Poem 4 'TARTARUS'

TARTARUS

Opening out, I celebrate
at the Self of you.

For you are so wide open,
wide as all the world.

While all I do is drown in you:
Deeper…in still deeper;

until I couldn’t cast a fig
for that unutterable ‘why’

that brought me to this place-
of darkness and ecstasy.

No longer need to understand.
You only are the world.

In your soft arms,
Hades actually smiles.
